Men's Section

Since the founding of the Club in 1904, the men's section of Railway Union Bowling Club has enjoyed various periods of success in Bowling League of Ireland competitions. Way back in the 1930s and 1940s we won the BLI's Nassau and Tyler cups several times. Then, in 1980, Railway won the BLI Mecredy Cup for the first time, followed by another period of achievement in 1989 and 1990 with the club winning both the BLI and Mecredy cups in both years.

Although we struggled a bit in the early to mid-2000's as some key players left the Club, we have fought very hard over the past few years to restore our fortunes and are now enjoying sustained success. Our members won the Mecredy cup in 2009 and 2011, the Tyler cup in 2010 and 2011, and both the Nassau cup and Bank of Ireland Investment cup in 2012.

Also in 2012, we won BLI Division 3 for the first time in our history, and two years later in 2014 we won Division 2 for the first time. 2015 sees us competing in Division 1, the highest Division in the Republic of Ireland. So we're now on a new adventure!!! Onwards and upwards!!!
